wake up {my family}

Hellooooooo! And apologies for being so quiet on the blog front. Seems life with a newborn and a toddler just doesn't allow for computer time! But here is my lovely little Addie-cakes waking up from a snooze. She's 1 week old in these shots. Can't believe they were taken 10 weeks ago! These days she is all smiles. More pics soon xx

After what felt like a very long wait, our beautiful little girl is here. And once she decided it was time to come, it was all go go go! One minute I was watching a movie with my gorgeous hubby on the couch, and the next we were on our way to the hospital...Within about an hour she was in our arms, and now life before Addie seems a distant memory. I am completely smitten with this little angel, and we are loving settling into our new little family.

"On the night you were born, the moon smiled with such wonder that the stars peeked in to see you and the night wind whispered, 'Life will never be the same'. Because there had never been anyone like you...ever in the world".  Nancy Tillman

With four kids under the age of 8, I think this couple must be hiding Superman and Superwoman unitards underneath their clothes...haha! What a brilliant job they do. It's no easy task photographing 4 small kidlets together, and given they were also recovering from being sick it was a chaotic afternoon indeed. But I think the beautiful connections captured here speak for themselves. I particularly love the first one of Mum with her baby boy, and the last 2 of Dad with his smitten little girl. And talk about personality! Such unique characters in all of these little people, got me wondering how different my little girl is going to be from her big brother Levi... To these super-parents - I truly admire the amazing job you are doing!

I LOVE being a photographer! Don't get me wrong. But the unfortunate part of being a photographer is that you are noticeably absent from all the family photos! Every now and then I turn the camera around to grab a quick shot of my boy and I - like these ones below. Just to grab hold of the memories! In my sudden panic that I was going to let this pregnancy slip by (I'm 31 weeks already!?) I was even prompted to convince a lovely friend to snap some family shots of Levi, my hubby and I last weekend. Haven't had a chance to process any yet, but will post some soon!
